Strategic Vision and Global Expertise
In 2023, Space.s was entrusted with designing and building the new Vietnam office for IMCD, a global leader in distributing and formulating specialty chemicals and ingredients. As a knowledge-driven company operating across more than 60 countries, IMCD required a functional workspace and a strategic hub that reflects its scientific identity and supports its growth in the dynamic Southeast Asian market.
This project called for a balance between technical excellence, aesthetic harmony, and brand alignment—challenges that Space.s addressed through a future-ready, human-centered design approach.
Design Concept: “Scientific Precision Meets Natural Ease”
The design concept embraces IMCD’s scientific essence while introducing warmth and openness through natural materials and calming spatial dynamics. Inspired by the idea of a modern scientific campus, the layout encourages focus, interaction, and flow, mirroring the precision and fluidity of IMCD’s work.
Clean lines, light-filled spaces, and biophilic accents such as indoor plants and sustainable textures were incorporated to foster clarity, well-being, and connection with nature.
Sustainability and Smart Integration
The IMCD office embraces sustainability at its core, optimizing daylight and energy efficiency through sensor-controlled lighting systems and efficient HVAC planning. Space.s prioritized eco-certified materials and introduced biophilic design to enhance air quality and employee comfort.
In support of IMCD’s high-tech operations, the office features an advanced IT and connectivity infrastructure, enabling seamless collaboration across regions. Sustainability also informs the layout, encouraging resource-efficient space usage and flexible working styles.
Elevating the Employee Experience
The new IMCD office is designed to enhance employee well-being and performance. Ergonomic furniture, acoustic treatments, and a mix of collaborative and quiet zones ensure comfort and focus throughout the day. Breakout areas and a modern pantry offer moments of relaxation and community connection.
The consistent visual identity, through colors, textures, and subtle brand markers, reinforces a sense of pride and belonging, making the space not just a workplace, but a meaningful destination for IMCD teams.
